  • Upcoming Webinar: Basic HVAC Electricity – Part 2

On January 28th, E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal & HVAC Supply partnered with York® to present “Basic HVAC Electricity”, a free two-hour webinar. A large group of HVAC technicians, apprentices, and others attended the two-hour program, but due to the superior quality of content and high level of student engagement, E.P. Homiek and York® will present “Basic HVAC Electricity – Part 2”, a continuation of the previous webinar, on March 4, 2021 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Electrical proficiency has become a necessity as HVAC equipment becomes more technologically advanced. Approximately 75% of service calls involve electrical diagnostics and electric parts failure, so HVAC technicians must have an understanding of three basic categories of HVAC electricity: electrical power and distribution, low voltage, and microelectronics. Techs also need to familiarize themselves with national electrical codes and electrical safety including lockout/tagout and testing. The ability to properly use a multimeter and understand measurement of voltage, amperage, resistance and continuity are also important for any HVAC technician.

E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal & HVAC Supply is committed to presenting free, twice-monthly HVAC training webinars to help ensure the success of our customers. Other recent webinar topics included EEM-ECM Motors, A/C System Capacity, Commercial Equipment Commissioning, Electrical Diagnostics, Gas Furnace Service & Troubleshooting, TXV & Reversing Valves, and more. We encourage our customers to let us know of any topics of interest for future webinars.

To register for “Basic HVAC Electricity – Part 2”, please call Kathy Penna at E.P. Homiek’s Lakewood office at (732) 364-7644, or email kpenna@ephomiek.com. Participation in Part 1 of this informative webinar is not required.
