HVAC Supply Houses: Sources for Vendor Equipment Training
The HVAC supply industry is certainly a competitive one, with an array of supply houses and vendors trying to sell their parts and equipment to local markets. Manufacturers of various equipment – packaged HVAC units, split systems, heat pumps, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, air cleaners, exhaust fans, etc. – that sell their products through reps and supply houses are always looking for an edge over their competitors.
While pricing is important, it isn’t everything. Contractors both large and small generally only represent a few brands of equipment, so it is important for manufacturers to convince contractors of the value and superiority of their products. This is why many vendors, from Goodman, Honeywell, Sea Breeze, Crown Boiler, Mitsubishi and many others look to provide free training to educate HVAC contractors and technicians on their equipment.
Many vendor equipment training workshops are held at or organized through local HVAC suppliers like E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal Fabrication & HVAC Supply. Some manufacturers provide bus trips to their factories, and others make significant investments in mobile classrooms in which tractor trailers are outfitted with operating equipment. During these training sessions HVAC technicians learn about different vendor equipment models, field installation techniques, troubleshooting, warranties and replacement parts, as well as the various benefits to the customer.
E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal Fabrication & HVAC Supply is hosting a Crown Boiler training seminar at 5:00 p.m. on February 28, 2017, at our Union, NJ location. Technicians will be trained on service and installation of Crown boilers. For more information, please call 908-688-9104 or 732-364-7644.
