  • Electrical Diagnostics in HVAC Seminar

Understanding power and controls in residential and commercial HVAC is critical for any field technician, as about 80% of problems on a service call are electrically related. Residential HVAC technology has made significant advances in the past decade with the introduction of microprocessors and microelectronics. Most new HVAC systems now include ECM motors, variable speed compressors, and, increasingly, smart technology. As a result, troubleshooting has become a bit more complex, so HVAC technicians need to expand their knowledge of electronics basics and what to look for.

E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal & HVAC Supply is hosting four Electrical Diagnostics in HVAC seminars on January 23 (full) and February 20, 2020 at our Lakewood location, and on February 6 (full) and March 5, 2020 at our Union location. These classes are instructed by an electrical/mechanical engineer with over 25 years’ experience. Topics include:

    • Basic principles of electricity
    • Electrical HVAC components and how they operate
    • Understanding schematics and electrical wiring diagrams
    • Voltage, amperage, and resistance: Ohm’s Law
    • Basic electrical troubleshooting and sequence of diagnostics
    • Electrical safety

There is no charge for this seminar, and free food and beverages will be served (kosher food is gladly provided upon request). Registration is required. To RSVP, please call 732-364-7644 or email kpenna@ephomiek.com.
