E.P. Homiek Emergency Duct Fabrication
On a Friday afternoon just before a three-day holiday weekend, E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal & HVAC Supply received a call from an HVAC contractor who found himself in dire straits. Closings for two large new Jersey Shore homes were approaching quickly, and the builder needed the HVAC systems to be completed as soon as possible to support finishes that require an air-conditioned environment for proper drying and curing.
The HVAC contractor had ordered the various plenums, elbows, and specialty transition fittings they needed to complete the ductwork from another sheet metal fabricator, who promised delivery on Friday morning. But the materials never arrived, and all calls to the fabricator went unanswered; apparently, they had closed early, unannounced, for the holiday weekend.
With work crews scheduled to work the next day and a hard completion deadline imposed by the builder, the HVAC contractor turned to E.P. Homiek for emergency fabrication. As we promise on our website, our sheet metal fabrication shop had all of the plenums, elbows, and fittings loaded onto a delivery truck and on their way to the two bayside homes within two hours.
The HVAC contractor was able to complete the installations over the weekend as promised and both homes were sufficiently cooled and dehumidified by the time construction workers arrived on Tuesday morning to complete the finishing touches. The HVAC company owner personally called Ed Homiek to thank us for helping them out of a pinch and to say that E.P. Homiek would be getting all their duct fabrication business from then on.
