EPH Hosts Resideo Hydronics Training Webinar
Last Thursday, March 10, 2022, E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal & HVAC Supply hosted a free, two-hour Hydronics Training webinar presented by Resideo and Honeywell Home. Many of E.P. Homiek’s customers service homes that have circulating hot water systems as their main source of heat, particularly in North Jersey, so this webinar was specifically requested by one of the HVAC contractors who frequently attends our free webinars.
The instructor, Resideo Eastern Water Sales Leader Chris Tomeno, is an engineer who is extremely knowledgeable in all facets of residential and commercial hydronic heating system design, application and service. The presentation was packed with information, starting with a hydronics overview then moving hydronic system basics covering thermal properties of water and glycol, it’s efficiency and circulation, line sizing, primary and secondary loops, and zoning. Next, Chris covered proper selection and application on all hydronic products such as valves, pumps, backflow preventers, expansion tanks, zone valves, air vents, thermostats and controls. He discussed common problems and how to properly diagnose hydronic system issues and fix them in a timely manner. The webinar ended with a lively Q&A as HVAC contractors and service technicians who appreciated the instructor’s depth of knowledge and well-rounded experience in hydronic systems.
