E.P. Homiek Sheet Metal & HVAC Supply has hosted several seminars over the last few months, including Airflow Testing & Balancing (TAB), Electrical Diagnostics in HVAC, Ductless Mini-Splits, ECM Motors, and NJ HVACR Continuing Education 5-Hour Course. As a supplier of HVAC equipment including Goodman, Daikin, Bryant, Crown Boiler, and others, we think it is important to provide training seminars and other educational opportunities for our customers. If technicians are struggling to service certain types of equipment or brands, it can hurt customer satisfaction in the long run. Many equipment manufacturers provide these training services, relying on suppliers and contractors like E.P. Homiek to provide the venue. There is certainly a need, as HVAC is one of the most technically challenging trades, with mechanics needing to know about airflow, heat exchange, psychrometrics, electrical, controls, and refrigerants. Equipment continues to become more advanced with introduction of technologies such as variable speed and constant torque motors as well as inverter compressors that operate on DC controls.
